Directive issued by the proprietor of Tannowa estate on the fifteenth day of the eighth month of the eighteenth year of Shōhei (1363). Southern Court era name.

An order of the added tax (kyōbun] for the estate secretary (kumon) of the western portion of Tannowa estate, Izumi province.

In sum

According to the register of the fourteenth year of Shōhei (1359), the aforementioned sum of the proprietor’s rice tax is assessed at the rate of three tō per tan.1 Concerning the added tax (kyōbun), it is the permanent right of the Estate Secretary (kumon). Thus, this order is so conveyed.

The fifteenth day of the eighth month of the eighteenth year of Shōhei (1363)

1. This would be roughly per 1000 square meters while one tō equals 18 liters. The rate of taxation would be 54 liters per 1000 square meters.
