淡輪庄領家(九条中将某)御教書
元三役人可有御勤仕之由
被成進 綸旨之間雖有御避退
綸旨及度々間所被申領状也
所詮明年募夏麦為沙汰人秘計
用途五百疋可被申伝借為御出仕
出立来廿五日以前可被致其沙汰之由
被仰下候其間子細此御つや可被
仰談候可令尋承給候哉仍執達如件
十二月十三日 左衛門少尉為重 奉
淡輪庄西方公文沙汰人御中
An imperial edict (rinji) was dispatched requesting that [the Kujō captain/lord] should attend the [court] ceremonies from the first to third days of the first month as a server.
Although he declined it, edicts have been sent repeatedly, so my lord finally accepted. So, for the necessary 500 hiki [for the lord's attendance], the estate official (satanin) should borrow from the next year's summer wheat as a guarantee.
In order to prepare for attendance at the ceremony [which is held on the first three days of the first month], the lord ordered to complete this task before the coming twenty-fifth day. As for the specifics of this, Otsuya [the messenger] will deliver them, so discuss [the details] with him [so as to ensure compliance].
Thus conveyed.
