#1 1556 Isano-Saji oath with Daishi kanjō invocation
[Item] The current dispute with Imajuku village is over the pasture grass in Kawaraomote in your landholdings. We will never assert any rights over Kawaraomote.
[Item] We will never make unprecedented claims to your landholdings.
[Item] We will never plot with the residents of Imajuku village and make unreasonable claims.
If we were to tell a lie, we would receive harsh punishment from this oath (kishōmon). The content clause (maegaki) is thus.

[To:] Hon. (Saji) Tarōsaemon no jō
We respectfully invoke Master Saichō and write an oath (kishōmon)
We, Buddhist students (学徒), press the palms of our hands together from the bottom of our hearts (至心合掌) and vow (稽首和南) to all the Buddhas of the three temporal divisions and the ten directions (三世十方諸仏神), Irate deities (忿怒聖衆), all the Buddhas of the universe (尽虚空遍法界諸仏如来), Enlightened Buddhas (応正等覚), Great Bodhisattvas (諸大菩薩, 摩訶薩), all the disciples (一切声聞辟支仏衆), the god Brahmā (梵天), the god Indraḥ (帝釈), Four Heavenly Kings (四大天王), the Sun, the Moon, and the Five Planets (日月五星), the Twenty-Eight Constellations (廿八宿), the god Mahākāla (大黒天神), the goddess Bhumi (堅牢地神)、the goddess Sarasvatī (大弁才天), the goddess Śrī-mahādevī (大吉祥天), the god Vināyaka (聖歓喜天), the general Pañcika (散脂大将), Twenty-Eight Guardians (廿八部衆), the generals Dharmapala (鬼神諸将), the protector (一切護法天王) and other protectors of Buddhist Law (天衆諸善神王).
We vow again (復稽首) to the halls of this mountain (当山諸堂), the buddha Vairocana (大日如来), the bodhisattva Maitreya (弥勒菩薩), the goddess of Mercy (大悲観音), the god Brahmā (梵), the god Indraḥ (釈), Four Heavenly Kings (四王), the protectors of Law (護法聖衆), the Central Hall (根本中堂), the Buddha Bhaisajyaguru (薬師如来), Suryaprabha and Candraprabha (日光・月光遍照菩薩), Manjushri (大聖文殊), Vaiśravaṇa (毘沙門天王), Divine Generals (神将), a gathering of saints in the Womb Realm (海会聖衆)、the Hall of the wheel of the Dharma (転法輪堂), the East and West Pagodas (東西両堂), saints of sub-temples (諸房三宝聖衆), the Triad of the Shuryōgōin temple (首楞厳院三尊), a gathering of protectors of various halls in the Diamond Realm (界会所有中諸堂護法聖衆).
Again, we are awakened (更復驚覚) by the deities of Hachiman, Kamo, Matsuo, Inari, and Hirano (八幡・賀茂・松尾・稲荷・平野大明神), the deity of Kasuga (春日大明神), the deities of Hie and Sumiyoshi (日吉・住吉諸大明神), the deity of Gion and Tenman (祇薗・天満大聖威徳), and many spirits from generation to generation (代々諸仏霊等).
Again, we sacrifice our lives (更復帰命) for the belief in Buddhist masters in India (震旦国中), Nangaku (南岳: Ch. Nanyue), Tendai (天台), Shōan (章安: Ch. Zhangan), Myōraku (妙楽: Ch. Zhànrán), Zenmui (善無畏: Ch. Shanwuwei), Kongōchi (金剛智: Ch. Jingang Zhi), Fukū (不空: Ch. Bukong), Ikkō (一行: Ch. Yi Xing), Keika (恵果: Ch. Huiguo), and all other saints who transmitted exoteric and esoteric Buddhism (惣而顕蜜伝燈諸尊師等). We single-mindedly swear.
